Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Location: Kensington, W14 8PT
Hours: 45 hours per week | 9 hours per day between 09:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday
Salary: between £45,372.23 and £53,436.24 pa DOE
Do you enjoy working on vehicles and take pride in delivering high-quality, reliable workmanship? We’re looking for a skilled and dependable HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who values doing a job well, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to be part of a supportive team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles, helping ensure they’re safe, compliant, and ready to serve our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment
- Service vehicles to VOSA standards and support preparation for MOT inspections
- Complete body and chassis repairs in line with Department of Transport specifications
- Maintain accurate records and update job information in company systems
- Build positive relationships with customers, including working independently at customer sites
- Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Follow health and safety procedures and carry out risk assessments as required
- Take part in training and development to build your skills and knowledge
About You:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
- Experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing
- Confident in diagnosing faults and identifying effective solutions
- Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
- Willingness to travel and work flexibly, including overtime when needed
- Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or an HGV Class 2 licence would be an advantage
